Pippin’s Fun Facts

Pippin is a Miniature Horse.
A miniature horse is a breed or type of horse characterized by its small size.
Miniature horses are generally quite hardy. They often live for longer than is typical for full-sized horses, the average life span is 25 to 35 years.
Pippin is a little girl, also known as a “Mare” in horse terms and even though she is small, she is mighty!

Pippin stands at 38”
Miniature horses are commonly measured in inches rather than hands which horses and ponies are measured in. Minis are no more than 38 inches tall (9.5 hh or 96.5 centimeters). Minis are roughly the same size as large dogs, making them fun-sized horses!

We don’t know Pippins's actual age but we believe, with a little help from the vet she is 13 Years old (2025)
We celebrate Pippins Birthday on the date we got her, as this was the day she was reborn into a new life.
Pippins’s Birthday Is on 25th June!

Pippin has an amazing coat color that changes with the season.
Her color is known as:
“ Strawberry Roan”
Through the summer Pippin is almost grey in color with flecks of red/brown throughout her coat with beautiful black legs like a fox and black mane & tail to match.
In the winter pippin goes a deep chocolate color. her coat is thick and cozy, when you part her shaggy coat its a beautiful white underneath. Her legs stay black but the hair grows extra long to keep her warm through the winter months.
In the months of Spring & Fall her coat goes a lovely nut brown with flecks or red and white throughout, keeping those beautiful velvet black fox like legs.

Pippin mainly eats hay throughout the day and night. Sometimes she’s allowed grass, but not too much as it makes her very excited & gain weight quickly as it’s very high in sugar.
For breakfast & Supper Pippin has half a cup of “Timothy Pellets” which is sun~cured Timothy grass made into pellets. It’s low in sugar and allows us to give her minerals and supplements that she requires to keep her fit and healthy on a daily basis.

Pippin lives with us at our home In the small coastal town of Marblehead, MA.
Pippin has her very own cozy stable and all weather paddock where she can walk around and bath in the sun.
Pippin also likes to come into the house and watch cartoons, help with baking yummy treats or get involved with arts & crafts.

Pippin goes on daily walks around our neighborhood & down town. She loves to stroll through the large woods nearby. Her favorite places to go are:
